Description
Mobile Web Performance is still gravely misunderstood. Shortage of measurement tools on mobile devices makes it hard to identify bottlenecks and understand the inner workings of the embedded browsers. The recent launch of Blaze.io's Mobitest tool helps unveil some of these unknowns, and improve our understanding.
In this presentation we'll go over the finding from running over 30,000 measurements on iPhone and Android devices. We'll review mass analysis of the data, and see which website attributes led to the best and worst performance. We'll show comparisons such as Android vs iPhone, WiFi vs 3G, old vs new OS and more. We'll also dig deeper into specific cases, which reveal interesting information. Lastly, we'll compare the info we gleaned to the current knowledge of the industry, and talk a bit about what's next.
