This page is dedicated to a community of presentation readers/viewers/listeners and presenters themselves who are eager to help this project to find, share and categorize technical presentations from various conferences, talks, informal meetings and so on.

[edit] Bookmark stuff using del.icio.us

If you come across any material useful for TechPresentations project you can start helping by just bookmarking it with tag techpresentations using del.icio.us - your bookmarks will appear on this page http://del.icio.us/tag/techpresentations (RSS) and you or somebody else can come back later and create pages for the resource you bookmarked.

Additional tags can also be useful to monitor more specific items:

Replace "Presentation" with presentation title.

Usually presentations come on packs (presenters store all their presentations together or conference uploads presentation slides or videos to their site).

Please if you find such a list but don't have time to describe them all, please add a link to such list to Presentation List page.

You can also mark a link as a link to presentations list by using Template:Presentations

If you're using Template:Conference and filling out presentations parameter, it's already done for you, but it might be useful if you're editing presenter's or company's page, for example.

[edit] Add upcoming conferences

It's very interesting for people to know what's coming up and it also helps contributors of this site to dig up interesting presentations. Please help us by adding a conference. If you're an organizer of the conference, it'll be great if you can also add conference description logos and links to wikis, blogs, calendars and anything any other tool that can help you participants as well as readers of this site to find interesting information.

To add a conference, replace "Upcoming conference" with conference title.

Please if you find a list of conferences, please add a link to such list to Conference List page.

[edit] Add conference series

Many conferences are part of a series of conferences. We'd like to make it easy for people to follow not only current and upcoming conferences, but also past and future conferences and adding conference series to our project helps our contributors track them.

[edit] Add old conferences

There is no good information source without look into past. We're running an initiative to list as many conferences that took place in the past. Easy way to start is to go to the list of conferences and go through their archive. You might want to copy wiki source from existing conference in the series - this will save you some time, because all you'll need to do is just change a couple of links and dates; it can also help discover hidden pages (usually presentation media pages) by guessing URL patterns from already discovered pages.

[edit] Create pages for presenters and companies and tag them

Presentations usually link to presenters and their companies. Please help us add more structure to the site by creating pages for them and categorizing them as Category:Presenter and Category:Company so they get added to the list.

This project started recently and beyond adding content, we need logos, promotion, mediawiki templates for various topics, you name it. We will try to publish all details on this page, but if you want to help, please ask on a discussion page for more details. We really appreciate your help!
